Yesterday was one of the best days in my life. We went to see the exhibition: "The Real Van Gogh, the artist and his letters" at the Royal Academy. An amazing exhibition of original Van Gogh paintings and his original letters to Theo and other of his friends. I understand again why when I was very young and I had the chance to go to Amsterdam I really didn't get to know that city at all; it was because I had booked a hotel there for 3 days: the first day I was going to visit the Van Gogh's Museum, the second day the Ryjksmuseum and the third was for touring around the city... but what happened? The first day I went to Van Gogh's museum, the second to Van Gogh's and the third to Van Gogh's :) Seeing the real van Gogh's is impossible to describe. What I can say is that the prints of his paintings have nothing to do with the real stuff. Tlayacapan and Cicada
Honoring my blogger friend Frikosal, who loves bugs... I am posting here the first pic I have made from a bug... I am not a good photographer at all but this is the first time in my life that I have found a cicada. We found this beautiful insect while we were in the pool...One of my painter friends has a beautiful house in Tlayacapan, a beautiful town in Morelos, what I enjoy the most was the good company and the house on a tree! Since I was a little girl I dreamed of a house like that :)

A mi me encanta la acuarela, me da más libertad que ningún otro medio... el único inconveniente que le veo es el tamaño del papel. Aunque creo que en Europa venden el Arches en rollo....te imaginas?

La acuarela tiene muchos trucos, cerca de donde vivo se encuentra el Museo de la Acuarela, donde dan clases de esa técnica. A mi no me gusta tomar clases de pintura, pues creo que lo mejor es la experimentación propia, pero una vez que estaba allá me tocó ver una clase, en la cual para que tal color no pasara a otro lado se enmascarillaba la zona y ví en resumen que usaban 101 trucos para lograr acuarelas de un virtuosismo técnico impresionant. Los pintores se podían tardar hasta un mes en una acuarela! Te imaginas? El resultado obviamente eran pinturas acartonadas y faltas de emoción...eso sí con una técnica impecable.
Por qué te cuento todo esto? Porque para mi la acuarela no es tan dificil, la haces sin pensar, con la emoción del momento, sin miedo, puede chorrearse...no importa, lo importante es que el cuadro en si resute algo vivo....si resulta, puede ser magnífica, si no resulta es una porquería y se deshecha...así de fácil :)

Tampoco me interesa el virtuosismo por el virtuosismo.
Siempre que veo tus acuarelas me dan ganas de pintar. A ver si se me pega algo de ti.

No...claro que no. Además de la pasión, se requieren muchas horas de práctica para dominar la técnica.
Un cuadro sin técnica y mucha pasión seguramente será un fracaso, pues no se llegó a alcanzar lo que el sentimiento demandaba en ese momento. Pero una pintura con toda la técnica y sin pasión, será un pintura sin vida, muerta...bueno, es mi opinión.

Gracias por tus comentarios, pues qué te digo...a mi me gustan mucho tus acuarelas espontáneas y quisiera también se me pegara la facilidad que tienes para causar emoción con tus relatos escritos

Te comento que en mi opinión si alguién más está dirigiendo tu cuadro, diciéndote qué color o qué trazo, aunque no lo toque te está quitando tu cuadro. Yo creo que pintar es algo muy intimo, donde sólo el pintor debe decidir hasta donde quiere llegar y qué quiere expresar.
