Céad in China Finissage

The exhibition in China came to its end... The small oil Céad (30 x 30 cm) has finished its tour in China. It was shown in Hahgzhou, Shanghai and Beijing. The pic I paste here belongs to Shanghai exhibition.

I was very happy of have been selected for this Irish show in China .... Now I hope I will find a way to exhibit in Kilkenny too. I was invited to show my work at Kilkenny Arts Festival next August ...let's see...

Gracias Martiny, me comentaron que las exposiciones tuvieron mucho éxito en China y que el catálogo es el más elaborado que han hecho hasta la fecha. Muero de ganas que ya me lo manden.
Cómo os fue en Italia? Cuenta, cuenta...

Hola amiga:
Me gustan tus obras. Esta en concreto me maravilla porque me recuerda a Van Gogh (Colores), Degas (Dibujo), Toulouse Lautrec (dinámica), Matisse (el tratamiento fauve), Gauguin (los colores tierra) y Modigliani (las deformaciones ovales).
Una auténtica maravilla.

This weekend I went twice to the Royal Academy of Arts to the talks of Mexican Architects.  The first talk on Saturday was by architect Michel Rojkind. It was amazing, I liked very much the friendly and social approach to all of his projects, they are quite innovative and he thinks of people.  He is an excellent story teller and all the public was captured by his talk. He is a people person, and he reflects that in his architecture... the project that impact me the most was the on-site extension of la Cineteca Nacional. I loved this place since I was very young and used to live in Satélite; as I am a film lover remember driving every weekend there. Later I was lucky enough to live in Coyoacan so I travelled there by bike.  I was very impressed by the fact that Rojkind's project involves the whole area of the Cineteca, he includes the Archives in his plan and leaves the old Cineteca building untouched, giving tribute to the history of this old buildi...

A leap of faith

  13 years ago I took a leap of faith and came with my family to London.  I thought it was going to be easy. It was not. I thought that because during my youth I lived in another country, and it was one of the best experiences in my life. That other country was Germany, and since then I longed for Europe, well I confess I still do… because you should know, England is not Europe. Of course this is my very personal view. I was born in Mexico City, a vibrant and chaotic city. Mexico is a surreal beautiful country. When you are abroad you worth it even more. You might wondered then, why did we decide to leave Mexico?  Well, we decided to leave Mexico because my country was becoming very insecure. It was during president Calderon’s failed drug war.
