Celtic Sky

Ireland is a magic place. It is impossible not to feel the urge of paint here. The landscapes, the colors...but above all the Irish Sky. I am used to live in a FLAT sky, so...being out of the blue in a place where the sky is really 3D was overwhelming for me, the sky is a living being, it moves, it transforms, it has depth, it talks to me...
I have bought a full set of brushes and watercolors...unfortunately the rain didn't allow me to paint at all .... so I will have to come back next year :) but I ought to do some sky painting!

Nice pix! But I don't think you live in a city with a flat sky... Mexico City's sky is just different... remember the altitude, that is why it looks as a very thin film, as a grid I can say, where you can shade colors and diffuminate shadows... by the way, do you remember the Tuscan sky?

deacuerdisimo con darth! el sielo aca no es flat... mas bien creo que con la impresion de esos cielos (que si son maravillosos.... y diferentes) olvidaste la hermosura de los cielos de todos los días en el DF... tu misma me lo has dicho respecto al cielo en septiembre, no?

I don't know but the Irish Sky was very special for me, but now that you mentioned it, it comes to my mind the day I was at Ponte Buriano...and that sky was overwhelming too...

En septiembre la luna es especial aquí, pero sí es verdad que el cielo de México es ligero y aquellos en cambio parecen decirme del nacimiento de algo grandioso... o será que me gusta encontrar simbolismos en todo lo que me inspira? Creo que a veces me siento la protagonista de una epopeya y esos cielos son escenarios mágicos!

This weekend I went twice to the Royal Academy of Arts to the talks of Mexican Architects.  The first talk on Saturday was by architect Michel Rojkind. It was amazing, I liked very much the friendly and social approach to all of his projects, they are quite innovative and he thinks of people.  He is an excellent story teller and all the public was captured by his talk. He is a people person, and he reflects that in his architecture... the project that impact me the most was the on-site extension of la Cineteca Nacional. I loved this place since I was very young and used to live in Satélite; as I am a film lover remember driving every weekend there. Later I was lucky enough to live in Coyoacan so I travelled there by bike.  I was very impressed by the fact that Rojkind's project involves the whole area of the Cineteca, he includes the Archives in his plan and leaves the old Cineteca building untouched, giving tribute to the history of this old buildi...

  13 years ago I took a leap of faith and came with my family to London.  I thought it was going to be easy. It was not. I thought that because during my youth I lived in another country, and it was one of the best experiences in my life. That other country was Germany, and since then I longed for Europe, well I confess I still do… because you should know, England is not Europe. Of course this is my very personal view. I was born in Mexico City, a vibrant and chaotic city. Mexico is a surreal beautiful country. When you are abroad you worth it even more.
