Ocher oil

I liked this painting.... (if you click on the image you will be able to see details)
although today ochers didn't allow me to cook and I had no other choice than to feed my children with junk food :(
I know, I could stop... go downstairs and cook and then pick up the brushes again, but it has happened to me when I am immersed in a painting that I am really enjoying that when I stop and pick up the brushes again, my mood has changed... and the result is different. Today I didn't want to take the risk, because my mood today was somehow special :)))

y por fin, con que resolución subes tus fotos? te tardan mucho? son en jpg o en png?

yo subí un nuevo dibujo, la foto tiene más detalle, pero tardó un buen.

... ya vi el detalle de la cara... el oleo esta super diluido, parece acuarela.... con que lo diluyes? tarda mucho en secar?

Pues salió de mi :))) no copié niguna Amelie :)

Las fotos las tomo simplemente con mi nueva cámara a no muy alta resolución, pero es una Canon con un buen lente y sí que se ve la diferencia. Son jpgs.

Y la técnica es óleo-temple. Recuerdas que estuve aprendiendo temple en noviembre? Pues es una maravilla, porque me permite hacer veladuras y transparencias de volada y ahora mis óleos los termino el mismo día en unas cuantas horas....para mi que soy tan desesperada, encontré mi técnica ideal pues ya he comprobado que la mejor manera que tengo de expresar mi emoción es la velocidad. Un cuadro lento me aburre....

I am glad you liked it...I liked it too, I was very excited while it was appearing... so it was worth that my kids ate today at Burger King :(((
Paintings are like that, you don't know what to expect and sometimes they surprise you. And just while I was posting it I received a letter with my first Irish award :) I do think that this ocher oil brought it .... Life is mysterious....

ah! canon... con razón.

el temple es practiquisimo, yo ya lo he usado con óleo, hace años pepe me enseñó como hacerlo, y tiene esa gran ventaja de las veladuras y el secado rápido... lo único malo es el aroma :)

Poca gente sabe lo difícil que es dibujar escorzos con esta libertad. Demuestras virtuosismo.

Córcholis Odette, no sé qué estaba tomando en el momento de preguntarte el nombre, porque no tengo la menor idea de qué significa ni de dónde lo saqué... pero suena bonito, no? En cuanto lo recuerde te aviso.
Ojalá y este nombre te dé suerte. Bueno, quito el "ojalá". Te dará suerte. Confía en mi palabra.

This weekend I went twice to the Royal Academy of Arts to the talks of Mexican Architects.  The first talk on Saturday was by architect Michel Rojkind. It was amazing, I liked very much the friendly and social approach to all of his projects, they are quite innovative and he thinks of people.  He is an excellent story teller and all the public was captured by his talk. He is a people person, and he reflects that in his architecture... the project that impact me the most was the on-site extension of la Cineteca Nacional. I loved this place since I was very young and used to live in Satélite; as I am a film lover remember driving every weekend there. Later I was lucky enough to live in Coyoacan so I travelled there by bike.  I was very impressed by the fact that Rojkind's project involves the whole area of the Cineteca, he includes the Archives in his plan and leaves the old Cineteca building untouched, giving tribute to the history of this old buildi...

  13 years ago I took a leap of faith and came with my family to London.  I thought it was going to be easy. It was not. I thought that because during my youth I lived in another country, and it was one of the best experiences in my life. That other country was Germany, and since then I longed for Europe, well I confess I still do… because you should know, England is not Europe. Of course this is my very personal view. I was born in Mexico City, a vibrant and chaotic city. Mexico is a surreal beautiful country. When you are abroad you worth it even more.
