Anish Kapoor other world

Visiting Anish Kapoor exhibition at the Royal Academia of Arts is like traveling to another world.

First of all, you feel like a child, you have the urge to touch everything!  Of course it is not possible because all the sculptures are very fragile, but it put you into an anxiety state because the longing of getting inside the wax, or to jump and throw yourself into some objects is indeed very strong. Well at least it was on me...  Of course I have to accept that I am very impulsive :)

So it transports you through time, because you feel childish and happy...  some objects seems mathematic layouts that definitively are playing with TIME, like "Hive", which looks like a time machine that will hoover you into another dimension.  "It is an object that forms itself as a skin" and "emphasize inside and ouside: Courbet's L'Origine du monde". Besides "Hive" that I think was the piece that impressed me the most... I loved the mirror room, and above all the big mirror, which I don't know how but reflects your image several times, distortions it, puts it upside down and even plays with the perspective we all have of front and faraway plans and sizes.  Is this maybe an allusion to our lives? Vertigo?

Every piece is subject of so many interpretations in a philosophical way too...

Anish Kapoor doesn't need to explain anything, you feel it... I read that he has nothing to say as an artist. "Having something to say implies that one is struggling with the meaning.  The role of the artist is in fact that we don't know what to say, and it is that not knowing that leads us to the work."

But the most important thing for me is that I was around 2 1/2 hours there and all the time I was smiling.  I have to come back with my kids in spite of the ticket cost :(  This exhibition is hilarious!

Visitar la exposición de Anish Kapoor en la Royal Academy of Arts es como viajar a otro mundo.

Primero que todo te sientes como un niño, tienes la imperiosa necesidad de tocar todo!  Por supuesto no es posible pues todas las piezas son muy frágiles, pero te pone un un estado de ansiedad inmenso pues las ganas de embarrarte con cera, o de brincar y lanzarte dentro de algunos objetos es muy muy intensa.  Bueno, al menos lo fue para mi... aunque claro que debo reconocer que soy una persona muy impulsiva :)

Te transporta a través del tiempo, porque te sientes feliz e infantil... algunos objetos de plano hacen la referencia a planos matemáticos que definitivamente juegan con el Tiempo, como es el caso de "Colmena", que me dió la impresión de ser una maquina del tiempo que te succiona a otra dimensión. "Es un objeto que se forma a si mismo como una piel, enfatizando interior y exterior como l'Origin du Monde de Courbet".  Además de "Colmena" que a mi en lo particular fue la pieza que me gustó más, me encantó la sala con espejos y sobretodo el espejo grande que no sé en qué manera pero refleja tu imagen muchas veces, la distorsiona, la pone cabeza abajo y aún juega con la idea de perspectiva que tenemos todos de lejos y cerca y los tamaños respectivos.  Quizás sea una alusión a nuestras vidas? Vértigo?

Cada pieza puede ser sujeta de tantas interpretaciones, filosóficas también...

Anish Kapoor no necesita explicar nada, tu lo sientes... leí que el no tiene que decir nada como artista, pues tener que decir algo es tener que lidear con su sugnificado.  "El rol del artista es de hecho que no tenemos nada que decir y ese no saber nos lleva a la creación."

Pero lo más importante para mi fue que estuve dos horas y media ahí y todo el tiempo no pude dejar de sonreir!  Tengo que regresar con mis hijos a verla, a pesar del coste del billeto.  Esta exposición es divertida en verdad.
