Next Show: Museo Dolores Olmedo

I am going to exhibit a painting at the Dolores Olmedo Museum next June. Art critics have made a selection of Mexican contemporary art and my painting "The Road" was among the chosen ones.

Dolores Olmedo permanent collection is a set of stunning galleries that show the work of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo. And temporary exhibitions have shown work from Picasso, Moore, Rembrandt....

OK, this is not my next exhibition, because in May 12th take place the "Cèad in China" show at Hangzhou,China and in May 16th I am having a private solo show in Palmas, Mexico City but the importance of this museum made me highlightened it as my next show.

Wow! What a great opportunity! This is one of the most recognized museums in Mexico and it exhibits only the best. When will this exhibition take place? In my own opinion, "The road" is one of your best paintings, if not the best, because it combines beauty and innocence with a sense of mistery, and of course your mastership painting faces. Congratulations!

This weekend I went twice to the Royal Academy of Arts to the talks of Mexican Architects.  The first talk on Saturday was by architect Michel Rojkind. It was amazing, I liked very much the friendly and social approach to all of his projects, they are quite innovative and he thinks of people.  He is an excellent story teller and all the public was captured by his talk. He is a people person, and he reflects that in his architecture... the project that impact me the most was the on-site extension of la Cineteca Nacional. I loved this place since I was very young and used to live in Satélite; as I am a film lover remember driving every weekend there. Later I was lucky enough to live in Coyoacan so I travelled there by bike.  I was very impressed by the fact that Rojkind's project involves the whole area of the Cineteca, he includes the Archives in his plan and leaves the old Cineteca building untouched, giving tribute to the history of this old buildi...

A leap of faith

  13 years ago I took a leap of faith and came with my family to London.  I thought it was going to be easy. It was not. I thought that because during my youth I lived in another country, and it was one of the best experiences in my life. That other country was Germany, and since then I longed for Europe, well I confess I still do… because you should know, England is not Europe. Of course this is my very personal view. I was born in Mexico City, a vibrant and chaotic city. Mexico is a surreal beautiful country. When you are abroad you worth it even more.
